Keynote Speakers Announced for Missouri Outdoor Summit

The Missouri Outdoor Summit is just 4 short weeks away.  The program is coming together and we are excited to announce our two keynote speakers:

  • David Sobel, Antioch University of New England, will speak on Why 21st Century Children Need Nature. Author of numerous publications, David’s areas of expertise include place-based education, children and nature, parenting and nature and more.
  • Dr. Sonja Wilhelm Stanis, University of Missouri, will speak on Behind the Benefits of Outdoor Recreation: What Research Shows. This presentation will reveal some recent studies that demonstrate how parks and the natural environment can boost community wide well-being and quality of life.
Concurrent session speakers will showcase ways communities are connecting residents to the outdoors and nature.

Please join us March 19-20 at the Runge Conservation Nature Center in Jefferson City. Early bird registration ends March 1, at which time the registration fee will increase to $85. Space is limited and on-site registration will not be available, so click here to register.
