A CFM Regional Event to Highlight Outdoor Opportunities and Celebrate Conservation in St. Louis

The Conservation Federation of Missouri (CFM) is continuing its regional Explore the Outdoors event series on October 24 in St. Louis, Missouri. The event is both educational and informative, with fun activities the whole family can enjoy.

Explore the Outdoors: St. Louis begins at 11 a.m. at Powder Valley Conservation Nature Center with family friendly outdoor activities. Seminars will run throughout the day covering various topics specific to outdoor opportunities in the St. Louis area. They are free and open to the public. A schedule of seminars and activities will be released soon.

An evening banquet at The Lodge at Des Peres follows the seminars. The banquet includes dinner, silent and live auctions, speakers and live music. Register here. The highlight of the event will be a panel discussion featuring conservation professionals from around the country. The panel will discuss conservation topics relevant today.

  • Peter Raven, President Emeritus of the Missouri Botanical Garden is covering world conservation topics.
  • Andy Buchsbaum, the Vice President of Conservation Action for the National Wildlife Federation is speaking on national conservation topics.
  • Bob Ziehmer, the director of the Missouri Department of Conservation is discussing conservation topics relating to Missouri.

“The St. Louis area is rich with outdoor opportunities many residents of the area may not know about,” said Brandon Butler, Executive Director of CFM. “Through Explore the Outdoors: St. Louis, CFM aims to inform individuals and families about our state’s natural resources and encourage them to take advantage of our great outdoors.”

Registration is required for the banquet and is on the CFM website at www.confedmo.org/st-louis. Banquet tickets are $100 for individuals and include dinner and a one-year CFM membership. Sponsorship opportunities are available for interested businesses and are featured on the website.
