On June 25 thousands of people across the nation gathered in their backyards, neighborhoods, communities and parks to take part in a one-night event that provided an experience for all generations to open the door and sleep out under the stars.

The Great American Backyard Campout is part of the special event series from National Wildlife Federation’s Be Out There movement.
